A tip for editing

November 13th, 2011  |  Published in Notes to Self

I’m taking a quick break from the madness that is happening right now in my life, to share with the internet a very valuable tip I’ve learnt in the last few months.

Drink while editing.

After a few sips of wine, you will have less tolerance for convoluted statements and long-winded sentences. You will feel dettached to your writing and be free to “kill your darlings.” Drinking helps with brutal and efficient editing. Try it.

…now back to writing so I actually have convoluted statements to edit.
